Our client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer, who will be responsible for taking on the leadership role in financial decision-making that affect the company, and will provide strategic financial input to senior management. As the Chief Financial Officer, your key responsibilities will be to oversee the overall accounting process, develop and

implement the financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy:

● Contributes to the formation of the Business Strategy and ensures that all financial

policies, procedures and systems are sound.

● Oversees the preparation of Annual Operating Plan, Business Financial Plan and

Analytics.

● Using appropriate forecasting tool, ensures that adequate measures are factored in to

achieve business objectives.

● Provides financial direction, planning and accounting to the business, covering short

term and long-term financial goals.

Liquidity & Treasury Management:

● Ensures that optimal liquidity is available to deliver a business plan.

● Responsible for the capital structure management.

● Negotiates/arranges external finance, when necessary.

● Reviews working capital/cash flow requirement on a regular basis

● Monitors banking activities for the Company for proper running and ensures regular

reconciliations of all banking transactions.

Budgeting and Financial Forecast:

● Develops plans, budgets, forecasts and financial results to guide management

decisions by forecasting requirements; analyzing variances and initiating corrective

actions.

● Presents operating and capital expenditure budgets for review and approval.

Financial Analysis & Interpretation:

● Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating

corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.

● Responsible for presenting and reporting accurate and timely historical financial

information of the Company.

● Responsible for capital planning and allocation as well as balance sheet optimization.

● Reports financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing

variances; developing improvements.

● Coordination of financial reports within the Company.

● Demonstrates an excellent understanding of Insurance financials as well as advanced

business finance and performance analysis.

Regulatory & Statutory Relationship:

● Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors (Internal and

External Auditors).

● Coordinates regulatory and supervisory functions.

● Manages relationship with regulatory and statutory bodies, i.e. NAICOM, FIRS, LIRS,

etc.

● Reviews and manages the Financial Risks undertaken by the business, and

demonstrates a good understanding of the risk profile of the company whilst

reporting risk issues, and mitigating all identified risks.

Internal Control & Monitoring:

● Ensures adequate controls are instituted and maintained to cover all financial

transactions, and safeguard financial assets.

● Possesses versatile ability to handle various business applications within the Group.

People Management:

● Oversees activities of employees and teams (i.e. hires, coaches, appraises rewards,

motivates, discipline, etc).

● Works in conjunction with other senior management team members to set standards,

priorities and schedules.

● Responsible for employee engagement within the Finance team.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

You'll be a good fit for this role if you have experience with:

● Industry/role specific: Good understanding of the utility industry, consumer oriented

hardware product, management consulting with industry experience in a high growth

start up.

● Work experience within multinational and high growth start up and scaling the team

through series of equity and debt investment, preferably post series B.

● Strong negotiation skills within multicultural context.

● Experience of working with multicultural teams and investors.

● Strategic thinker and attention to detail.

Role Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of Flexi's executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the company's global financial strategy. The CFO will oversee financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, treasury, investor relations, financial reporting, and risk management.

This executive will play a critical role in ensuring Flexi maintains strong financial discipline, supports rapid international growth, and maximizes shareholder value. The CFO must balance financial stewardship with strategic foresight, providing insights that drive profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

The ideal candidate is a world-class finance leader with proven success in fintech, banking, or high-growth technology companies, and a strong track record of scaling businesses internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute Flexi's global financial strategy to support growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Serve as the principal financial advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive team.
  • Provide strategic input on investments, M&A opportunities, partnerships, and capital structuring.

Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Drive timely, accurate, and transparent financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and regulatory requirements.

Treasury & Capital Management

  • Manage global treasury operations, including liquidity, cash flow, and working capital optimization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
  • Optimize capital allocation to maximize returns and support strategic growth initiatives.

Investor Relations & Fundraising

  • Build strong relationships with existing and potential investors, analysts, and key financial stakeholders.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including debt and equity financing, in support of expansion plans.
  • Ensure clear, consistent communication of Flexi's financial performance and growth story.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Oversee financial risk management, ensuring effective controls and governance structures.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international tax, audit, and financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and other executives on enterprise risk frameworks.

Global Team Leadership

  • Lead and inspire Flexi's finance organization across multiple countries.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top finance talent while building strong leadership pipelines.
  • Embed a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and accountability across the company.

Key Qualifications

Education & Professional Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred).
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or ICAEW highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or senior executive role in a Microfinance Bank.
  • Proven track record in a Microfinance Bank is highly preferred
  • Experience in managing financial operations across Africa, Asia, or other emerging markets strongly preferred.

Expertise

  • Strong understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, treasury, and fundraising.
  • Expertise in international accounting standards, tax structures, and cross-border financial operations.
  • Demonstrated success in building investor confidence and managing public/private financial stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with fintech regulatory environments and digital financial ecosystems.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience building and scaling international finance teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, including at Board and investor levels.
