Job Description (Summary):
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing all mechanical works on-site, including plumbing system installations. This role involves providing technical guidance, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving project success through effective leadership and coordination.
Site Inspections and Monitoring:
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor mechanical installations and quality of workmanship. < r>• versee and supervise all on-site mechanical works, with a focus on plumbing systems. < r>• C rtify the completion of plumbing work and approve materials before usage. < r>• E sure the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams meet daily targets. < r>• S pervise Junior Mechanical Engineers and all plumbing-related work. < r>
Project Accountability:
• E sure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet client expectations. < r>• R solve technical difficulties and unforeseen issues on-site. < r>• C llaborate with site supervisors and other departments to ensure efficient operations. < r>• A sume full responsibility for all mechanical work under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety standards. < r>
Technical Advice:
• A sist in interpreting construction drawings and provide expert advice on mechanical-related work. < r>• P ovide technical solutions to improve system performance and project outcomes. < r>
Design and Schedule Management:
• R view designs produced by engineers and coordinate with other disciplines for seamless project execution. < r>• P oduce or sketch working drawings to support on-site operations when required. < r>• E sure project schedules are adhered to and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines. < r>
Cost Management, Testing, and Reporting:
• C nduct mechanical and plumbing tests with contractors and document findings. < r>• P ovide advice on mechanical costs during various stages of the project. < r>• M intain accurate project documentation, including daily reports and progress photographs. < r>• S pport the MEP team in achieving set goals and targets for mechanical and electrical groups. < r>
Requirements:
• B chelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Must be a licensed engineer.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry. Proficiency in engineering software, such as CAD tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good kn wledge of HVAC, piping and electrical.
