Our client is a leading Agro-Allied Company located in Agbara Ogun State.
Our client is seeking to hire an experienced Agronomist who will be responsible for improving crop productivity and sustainability by conducting research, analyzing soil and plant health, and implementing best farming practices.
The ideal candidate will also conduct soil and tissue testing, nutrient management, pest/disease diagnosis and control.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee all crop production activities to ensure timely and effective production.
Conduct research on crop growth factors, including soil fertility, water management, and environmental conditions.
Develop and test new farming techniques, treatments, and technologies, such as improved seed varieties and sustainable practices.
Analyze soil and plant samples to diagnose nutrient deficiencies and other issues.
Develop and recommend nutrient management plans and advise on the appropriate use of fertilizers, pesticides, and soil additives.
Develop and implement pest and disease management strategies to reduce losses and improve crop quality.
Provide technical assistance and training to farmers on good agricultural practices.
Perform regular crop inspections and preventative maintenance on farm equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Direct the daily activities of the grounds crew, including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and seasonal clean-up.

Position Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food security, livelihoods, Agro/livestock-related interventions, and climate adaptation projects;
- Proven ability to translate analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategy;
- Clear understanding of child and gender protection issues in the field;
- Good understanding of the North East Nigeria social and operational environment;
