Job Title: Salesman – Truck Maintenance
Location: Lagos
Department: Sales & Service
Reports to: Sales Manager / Service Manager
Role Summary
- The Salesman will be responsible for generating and maintaining business for truck maintenance services, spare parts, and service contracts.
This role requires building strong relationships with fleet operators, logistics companies, and individual truck owners, ensuring customer satisfaction while meeting sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell truck maintenance services, spare parts, and AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) to existing and prospective clients.
- Identify new business opportunities within the logistics and transportation sector.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets as set by the management.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with service/workshop teams to ensure quality service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and follow-ups using CRM tools.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer feedback.
- Support marketing campaigns, exhibitions, and promotional activities.
Provide after-sales support and resolve customer concerns in coordination with the service team.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
- Proven sales experience in automotive / truck maintenance, spare parts, or heavy vehicles sector.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of truck components, preventive maintenance, and repair services.
- Ability to work independently and achieve results under pressure.
- Valid driver's license (preferably heavy vehicle license is a plus).
Basic computer skills (MS Office, CRM software).

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in petrol and diesel trucks.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Perform routine inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
- Repair and replace faulty parts, including engines, gearboxes, clutches, and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Work with drivers and fleet managers to address vehicle issues promptly.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Truck Mechanic (Petrol & Diesel).

- Relevant technical certification/training is an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
