Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update customer and supplier account information.

Bank Reconciliation:

Expense Management:

  • Record and monitor business expenses, ensuring they align with company policies.

Data Entry and Record Keeping:

  • Accurately input financial data into accounting software or systems.

Payroll Assistance:

  • Assist in preparing payroll by maintaining employee data such as timekeeping records.

Financial Reporting:

  • Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
  • Assist in analyzing financial data to provide insights for management decision-making.
  • Generate reports on receivables, payables, and cash flow to support budgeting and planning.

Inventory and Stock Management:

  • Assist in monitoring and managing the stock of restaurant supplies and goods.
  • Reconcile stock levels with accounting records to prevent discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to manage the cost of goods and inventory purchases.

Tax and Compliance:

  • Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, including VAT, withholding taxes, and any other applicable taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and financial regulations.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with the Accountant and management team to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Provide support during financial audits and assist in addressing auditor queries.
  • Assist other departments, such as procurement and HR, with financial tasks as needed.

Other Administrative Duties:

  • Assist with answering phones, responding to financial inquiries, and providing customer support as required.
  • Perform other administrative duties related to accounting, such as handling petty cash.

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • ICAN Certification is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred, along with hospitality experience.

Cost Accounting & Analysis:

Financial Controls & Systems:

  • Enforce internal control policies to safeguard company assets.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience in accounting, cost accounting, or financial management roles.
  • ICAN Certification (fully qualified) — mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and cost control principles.
