Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to join our growing team in Nigeria. This role requires a seasoned professional with proven expertise in designing renewable energy systems ranging from small-scale installations to utility-grade projects, combined with extensive project execution experience across the African continent.

Key Responsibilities

Project Design & Engineering

  • Lead the design and engineering of renewable energy systems spanning small residential installations to large-scale utility projects (10MW+)

  • Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical due diligence for renewable energy developments

  • Develop detailed engineering specifications, system layouts, and technical documentation

  • Perform energy yield assessments, financial modelling, and risk analysis for project proposals

  • Ensure all designs comply with local Nigerian regulations, international standards, and best practices

Project Management & Execution

  • Oversee end-to-end project execution from concept through commissioning across multiple African markets

  • Manage cross-functional teams including local contractors, international suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders

  • Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure timely project delivery

  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle

Technical Leadership

Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Professional engineering license or equivalent certification (COREN, NEMSA etc)

  • Relevant renewable energy certifications (PV design etc.)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in renewable energy project development and execution

  • Proven track record designing small-scale (residential/commercial) to utility-scale renewable energy systems

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing project execution across multiple African countries

  • Experience with solar PV and energy storage solutions

  • Background in grid-tied and off-grid system design and implementation

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in renewable energy design software (PVsyst, Homer, AutoCAD, sketch up etc.)

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, power electronics, and grid integration
