Role of the Strategic Advisor
As a key counselor to the university's leadership, the Strategic Advisor will provide the expert insight
and foresight necessary to navigate the complex landscapes of academia and industry. The primary
responsibilities are focused on high-level guidance, not daily administration or management.

Strategic Counsel:
Serve as a senior advisor to the university's leadership team, offering
expert judgment on industry trends, curriculum innovation, and long-term strategic growth.

High-Level Representation:
Represent the university in key strategic discussions and forums,
lending your credibility and experience to advance our mission.
•
Network Activation:
Leverage your extensive network to facilitate critical partnerships with
industry, government, and academic institutions.
•
Leadership Mentorship:
Provide occasional, high-impact mentorship sessions for the Dean,
Heads of Department, and senior faculty to foster a culture of effective leadership.
Collaboration Structure Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual Retainer: An annual retainer will be provided in recognition of your strategic counsel and advisory commitment.
- Travel & Accommodation: All expenses for university-related travel, including business-class
airfare and premium accommodation for in-person meetings, will be fully covered.
- Discretionary Fund: A discretionary budget will be available for hosting meetings, research,
and other activities that support your advisory duties.
Key On-Campus Engagements
Based on the typical Nigerian university calendar, the Strategic Advisors physical presence on campus may be required during the following periods:
•
Beginning of First Semester (September/October):
To welcome new and returning students
and preside over the university's opening ceremonies.

Matriculation Ceremony (September/October):
To formally admit new students into the
university.
•
Convocation Week (March/April):
To preside over graduation ceremonies, award degrees,
and engage with graduating students and alumni. (Not required until 2029).
•
Annual Strategic Retreats & Governing Council Meetings:
To lead key strategic planning
sessions with university leadership.
•
Quarterly Strategic Advisory Sessions (4 Virtual Appearances):
Attend quarterly board or
leadership meetings remotely to provide strategic input and review progress.
• Key Partnership Meetings (As Needed): Join high-level meetings (virtual or in-person) to help
secure or launch strategic partnerships.
