Job Description
The Batching Store Officer is responsible for managing the preparation, measurement, and issuance of ingredients and pre-portioned batches required for daily restaurant or kitchen operations. This role ensures that batching processes are accurate, timely, and compliant with standard recipes, food safety, and inventory protocols.
br>Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and issue ingredient batches as per standardized recipes (SOPs) and kitchen production plans.
Accurately measure, weigh, and label items to ensure consistency in taste and portioning.
Maintain up-to-date records of batch issuance and raw material usage.
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of batched items.
Monitor stock levels of raw ingredients and report shortages to the Inventory Manager.
Ensure proper storage, FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation, and labeling of raw and batched items.
Follow hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety protocols during batching and handling.
Conduct daily checks on temperature-controlled storage (refrigerators, freezers) to ensure food safety.
Assist in regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
Report any discrepancies, spoilage, or quality issues to the relevant department.
Support audits and inspections by maintaining accurate documentation and clean work areas.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in Food Production, Store Management, or Culinary Arts is a plus.
Prior experience in a batching or food prep/store role in a restaurant, hotel, or central kitchen environment.
Strong attention to detail, especially in measuring and recording.
Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., FSSAI, HACCP).
Basic knowledge of inventory management systems or software.
Physical ability to lift and move food containers and stand for long periods.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
