Summary:
The Store and Inventory Officer will be assiting the Store Managing in overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring the proper storage, issuance, and tracking of all food and beverage items,and other supplies. The officer ensures that inventory levels are optimized, waste are minimized, and all stock movement is accurately recorded in line with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual (e.g., Excel).
- Conduct regular physical stock counts (daily, weekly, and monthly) and reconcile with system records.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure timely reordering and avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
- Track expiry dates of perishable items and ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) usage.
Receiving and Storage:
- Receive and inspect all deliveries for quality, quantity, and compliance with purchase orders.
- Ensure proper storage of food, beverages, and other supplies according to HACCP standards.
- Label and organize stock to allow for easy retrieval and minimal wastage.
Issuing and Stock Control:
- Issue ingredients and supplies based on approved requisitions.
- Monitor and log daily stock movement to and from the kitchen, bar, and service areas.
- Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to forecast stock requirements.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Report stock discrepancies, spoilage, or pilferage to management immediately.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in storage areas.
Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with procurement, kitchen, Bar and restaurant manager for timely stock replenishment.
- Assist in vendor evaluation by providing feedback on quality and delivery consistency.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory/storekeeping in the hospitality or food service sector.
- Experience in both fine dining and casual dining environments is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and/or inventory management software.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
