Talent Researcher (DJ Discovery)

Location: Remote

CULTUR FM is looking for a Talent Researcher who lives inside the culture. You're the one who finds DJs before they trend — the person who knows who's killing it on TikTok, who's shelling at the local rave, and who's building a name on SoundCloud. This role is about staying plugged into music, nightlife, and social media to help us keep CULTUR FM's DJ roster fresh, global, and exciting.

About CULTUR FM

CULTUR FM is a global platform celebrating DJs, music, and nightlife culture. From viral DJ sets to city takeovers and collaborations with major brands and festivals, we pride ourselves on bringing upcoming DJs to the big stage.

We're looking for someone who's deep in the culture — someone who lives on TikTok, goes out often, keeps up with the latest events, and genuinely loves discovering new talent. If you know what's bubbling before the mainstream catches on, this role is for you.

The Role

As our Talent Researcher, you'll be responsible for finding the next wave of DJs that represent the sound, energy, and diversity of CULTUR FM. You'll be tapped into nightlife, digital culture, and emerging sounds — from Afrobeats and Amapiano to R&B, Hip-Hop, and beyond.

You'll track, review, and report on rising DJs, scenes, and cultural shifts across social media and real-world events.

Key Responsibilities

• Discover & Track DJs:
• Find and monitor up-and-coming DJs across TikTok, Instagram, SoundCloud, and YouTube.
• Identify breakout talent early and flag them for CULTUR FM events or features.
• Stay Plugged into the Scene:
• Keep tabs on nightlife collectives, raves, and festivals — especially in London, Lagos, Accra, and other culture-driven cities.
• Monitor emerging trends, genres, and shifts in DJ culture.
• Database & Research Management:
• Maintain and update CULTUR FM's DJ database with new discoveries, bios, and performance insights.
• Organise and categorise DJs by genre, energy, and market potential.
• Cultural Reporting:
• Submit short weekly reports on who's trending, what's new, and where the culture is moving.
• Spot talent through both digital and real-life channels (events, community, etc.).

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Is obsessed with music and nightlife, especially Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afrohouse, R&B, and related genres.
• Spends real time on TikTok, Instagram, and SoundCloud discovering new sounds and faces.
• Knows nightlife culture — from underground sets to major DJ moments.
• Can identify what makes a DJ "CULTUR FM ready."
• Is organised and can keep a clean, structured database or research doc.
• Has a natural curiosity for emerging culture and a strong sense of taste.

Bonus Points If You

• Already follow or engage with DJ collectives and event series across the UK or Africa.
• Have experience in research, A&R, curation, journalism, or event programming.
• Can spot social media trends before they blow.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior UX Researcher to lead our user insights efforts and help us design delightful, intuitive, impactful and scalable experiences.

As a Senior UX Researcher, you will be a key advocate for the voice of the user. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to uncover actionable insights that inform product strategy and design decisions.
