Position: Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager will lead Homik Engineering's multi-disciplinary design team, overseeing all engineering activities across process, piping, pipeline, civil & structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process safety, and corrosion disciplines amongst others.

This is a strategic leadership role that focuses not only on technical oversight, but also on empowering discipline leads to take ownership of their functions. The Engineering Manager will assign project managers and engineering teams to each new project while providing adequate support, support business development activities with technical reviews for bid preparation and collaborate closely with the construction team to ensure seamless project execution.

Candidates with pipeline design and engineering experience will be highly valuable.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Engineering Department.
• Empower and mentor discipline leads to take ownership of their roles and deliverables.
• Assign project managers and project teams to new projects, ensuring clarity of responsibilities.

Technical Oversight

• Act as the primary technical interface with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Act as the bridge between engineering design and construction teams to ensure seamless handover and alignment.
• Participate in constructability reviews, technical clarifications, and site support as required
• Identify and mitigate engineering and execution risks proactively.
• Assign the right mix of engineering resources for each project from kickoff through delivery
• Provide input during tendering, feasibility studies, FEED, and detailed design phases
• Support seamless transition of designs from FEED/detailed design to construction and commissioning.

Quality, Safety & Innovation

• Establish and enforce QA/QC processes across all engineering activities.
• Embed safety and integrity considerations (process safety, pipeline integrity, corrosion prevention) into designs.
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and adoption of sustainable engineering practices.

Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Pipeline, Chemical, Electrical, or related).
• Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Management is an advantage.
• 8–15 years' progressive experience in engineering design and EPCI project execution, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams across EPC&I projects.
• Strong knowledge of pipeline engineering will be a significant advantage.
• Professional certifications such as COREN, PMP, or equivalent chartered status preferred.

Experience

• 8–10 years' experience in software engineering roles.
• Proven expertise in designing and building production-grade applications.
• Experience working with cloud-native architectures, APIs, and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), distributed systems, and message queues.
• Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments.
• Prior work in regulated industries (banking, fintech, telecom, healthcare) is advantageous.
