Desired Candidate Profile
The desired candidate profile for this position is as follows:
- Knowledge of refugee and IDP operations is highly desirable.
- A solid background in audit, accounting, and internal control is essential.
- Experience with UN/UNHCR, INGOs, or international accounting firms is an
- asset.
- A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or Audit and other related field
- is desirable.
- Proficiency in Hausa, Kanuri, or other local languages in the Northeast is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the cultural and political landscape of the Northeastern region is preferred.
Membership in a professional accountancy body such as ACCA, ICAN, or CPA is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
● Lead the financial management of all donor-funded and institutional projects.
● Develop project budgets in alignment with programmatic goals and donor
requirements.
● Monitor project expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
● Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for donors, management, and
other stakeholders.
● Liaise and negotiate with existing and potential donors on financial requirements
and reporting formats.
● Support project teams with financial planning, analysis, and forecasts.
● Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, organizational financial policies, and
statutory regulations.
● Oversee internal control process, project financial audits, and provide
documentation as required at all levels.
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of donor financial regulations and grant
management practices.
