Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IP Operations Engineer to join our technology team in Lekki. This role is ideal for a network professional with strong hands-on experience in IP networking, core infrastructure, and enterprise network support. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of IP and network systems to support mission-critical services for corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities: Technical Responsibilities:Provide hands-on technical support for IP and core network infrastructure.
Design, configure, and implement IP-based network solutions for corporate clients.
Troubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 network issues, ensuring minimal service disruption.
Maintain and upgrade core networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Manage and support network monitoring tools to ensure uptime and optimal performance.
Perform network diagnostics and troubleshooting across multiple technologies.
Support Unix-based servers (RedHat, CentOS, Debian) and integrate them into network operations.
Ensure compliance with company SLAs, responding promptly to urgent client issues.
Document technical procedures, network diagrams, and system configurations.
Operational & Administrative Duties:Report directly to the Head of Department.
Maintain accountability for all assigned equipment and resources.
Demonstrate leadership and professionalism, serving as a role model for junior team members.
Adhere to all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
Stay updated on company communications and notifications.
Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables from start to completion.
RequirementsRequired Technical Skills:Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and core routing/switching protocols.
Proficiency with Mikrotik and Cisco device configurations.
Experience with Layer 3 protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP, Trunks).
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve networking issues.
Knowledge of MPLS (L2VPNs, L3VPNs, VPLS) and LAC/LNS implementations.
Experience configuring Cisco ASA and Juniper firewalls is an added advantage.
Ability to work across multi-vendor network environments.
Familiarity with network performance tools and remote troubleshooting methods.

Education & Certification Requirements:B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
CCNA certification is mandatory.
Additional certifications (CCNP, Mikrotik, Juniper) are a strong advantage.

Lead process design using PFDs, P&IDs, and Heat & Material Balances
Perform process modeling with Aspen HYSYS, Flaresim, Flarenet, Piphase, Pipesim
Develop flare & relief system designs and conduct PSV sizing studies
Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with API 618, API 619, ASME B31.3, API 521, NFPA 86, ISO 10439
Troubleshoot operational problems and optimize processes
Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering teams and vendors
Support commissioning and start-up activities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (minimum Second Class Upper)
7-10 years oil & gas experience, particularly offshore production/pipelines
Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS, Pipesim, Flaresim, and process modeling tools
Experience in conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design
Strong knowledge of industry codes and safety standards
