Job Summary
Works with Network Architecture team to translate architecture requirements into platform level configurations. Performs tests that support deployment readiness decision.
Responsibilities
Troubleshooting
- Participates in the development and /or creates troubleshooting guides and trains the NSE team on the platform and how to troubleshoot issues
- Participates with NSE as needed to troubleshoot layer 1-3 network issues experienced by end customers and service providers
Network Design
- Translates high level architectural designs into platform configurations, and iteratively develops design changes based on testing
- Responsible for developing methods of procedure that implement the design changes in the network platforms
Commissioning/Installations
- Creates engineering deployment packages (EDPs), including rack elevation drawings, space and power requirements, cable run lists, and any other site specific documentation
- Performs first installation of new technology or services
- Completes documentation for use by Operations (EDPs, configurations, and training guides)
- Completes commission readiness
Testing & Validation
- Develops test plans and strategies to exercise platforms, including feature performance, load stress redundancy, operational alarms and metrics
- Develops and executes software test plans and procedures
- Develops and improves regression and acceptance tests
- Performs hands-on tests to validate proof of concepts, network design, network deployment, and introduction of services and features
Vendor Management
System Integration & Testing
- End to end testing of integrated solutions/services including BSS, OSS, and Software Engineering, with Network platforms/elements
- Creates new and innovative test strategies for tests in laboratory and field testing environments
- Provides feedback on how testing results can result in design changes to the Network Architecture team and platform vendors
- Develops scripts that are the basis for test automation and incorporated into a test automation framework
Training
- Develops training guide for NSE personnel
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of related experience
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field preferred

Job Responsibilities:
A) Formulates the overall network optimization plan, reviews the network optimization progress and quality, and appraises the network optimization performance.
B) Confirms the network optimization SOW and responsibility matrix.
C) Confirms network optimization acceptance KPIs, and monitors acceptance KPIs.
D) Allocates and coordinates internal and external manpower, software, and hardware resources for network optimization.
E) Coordinates with related departments of ZTE in technical support, technical services, and marketing for network optimization.
F) Accepts, tracks, and supervises the handling of network optimization problems, feeds back handling suggestions, coordinates related technical personnel to analyze and summarize network optimization problems, formulates on-site solutions, and implements them.
G) Reviews network optimization reports, and communicates with customers.
H) Plans and implements network optimization skill transfer.
Job Requirements
1.Familiar with mainstream network equipment (Huawei, ZTE, Nokia, Ericsson) and capable of independent network optimization and parameter adjustment.
2.Solid understanding of wireless network protocols (4G/5G signaling) and KPI analysis techniques (e.g., RRC connection success rate, call drop rate, data throughput, load balancing, cell reselection ratio).
3.Proficient in network coverage optimization, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
4.Skilled in using office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience in big data analytics is a plus.
5.Strong communication, teamwork, and coordination abilities.High sense of responsibility, learning agility, and capability to work under pressure.
6.At lest 3 years of optimization work experience

GVA is a telecom operator acting in the provision of very high-speed internet access. It builds, operates and markets its own fibre-to-the-home network under the CANALBOX brand. GVA launched its activities in 2017, and has since been operating in 9 countries (Gabon, Togo, Congo, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda) and 14 cities (Libreville, Port-Gentil, Lomé, Pointe-Noire, Brazzaville, Abidjan, Kigali, Rubavu, Ouagadougou, Bobo-Dioulasso, Kinshasa, Goma, Kampala, Cotonou).
As part of its expansion in Nigeria, GVA is looking for a Network & Infrastructure Manager based in Ibadan.
Job Duties
The Network and Infrastructure Manager is the manager of GVA's network and telecommunications infrastructure divisions. He/she plans and he/she monitors network engineering projects and technical operations for GVA's business. He/she coordinates the execution of GVA's technical network activities with internal operational teams and service providers. He/she may work alone or as part of a team, and report to the Technical Director.
Tasks
- Manage the infrastructure, network, and service delivery for international IP leased lines, national IP transit, backhaul, national and metropolitan leased lines.
- Supervise the team, resources, and service providers to ensure the delivery and quality of service and connectivity, and support the implementation of changes required for service delivery.
- Manage the technical implementation of agreed initiatives, in collaboration with all stakeholders, to ensure successful delivery.
- Assist the Group Engineering team in the deployment of network infrastructure and assets within GVA and ensure that the utilization, performance, and maintenance of infrastructure and assets are compliant with standards.
- Responsible for network resilience and redundancy plans.
- Oversee and manage network operations and infrastructure deployment.
- Understand technological trends in telecommunications infrastructure and implement relevant technological changes to evolve the company's infrastructure and meet changing business and customer requirements.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain network availability and quality indicators for all routes.
- Master disaster recovery processes for systems and infrastructure.
- Oversee and ensure the implementation of appropriate maintenance processes to preserve long-term service performance.

Required profile
Education and experience
- Engineering degree in telecommunications/computer science or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience
Professional certifications in computer networks would be an advantage
Skills
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in a similar position, including at least 3 years in a management role.
- 8 to 10 years of professional/technical experience in the B2B infrastructure/telecommunications sector, with a strong understanding of planning and designing internet access delivery networks.
- Experience in a service company designing FTTx and telecommunications (ISP) infrastructure would be an asset.
- Good knowledge of BOQs and BOMs for ISP networks.
- Proven experience leading and delivering network deployment projects.
- Experience working in a multinational company with a strong understanding of emerging markets.
- Knowledge of IT and telecom networks.
- Knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and routing (OSP, BGP, MPLS).
- Skills in network QoS management.
Knowledge of data center environments.
Soft skills
