We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our fast-paced technical team in Lekki. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability, availability, and optimal performance of our IT and telecommunications infrastructure.
As a NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for real-time network monitoring, incident response, and the overall health of critical network components. If you are detail-oriented, technically sound, and thrive in high-pressure environments, wed love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous 24/7 network monitoring and surveillance to detect faults and performance degradation.
- Administer system-level tasks across all elements of the network.
- Identify and troubleshoot potential problems proactively to prevent outages and service degradation.
- Analyze network traffic patterns, flag anomalies, and escalate concerns to the design or engineering teams.
- Resolve issues within the NOC or escalate to third-level support when required.
- Maintain incident logs and use network monitoring and diagnostic tools effectively.
- Monitor key vendor SLAs and report non-compliance or service gaps.
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents and customer-reported issues in alignment with SLAs.
- Collaborate across internal teams to improve system reliability and operational workflows.
Requirements & QualificationsEducation:
- B.Sc. or HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years in a NOC, telecom operations, or technical support role.
Certifications:
- Required: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Preferred: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or other relevant networking certifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Cisco switches and IP network administration
- Solid understanding of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and microwave technologies (PtP/PtMP)
- Knowledge of DWDM/OTN and fiber diagnostic tools (OTDR, E-Analyzer, SDH Analyzer)
- Skilled in analyzing OSI layer interactions for troubleshooting network issues
- Familiarity with NOC monitoring systems, alerting platforms, and ticketing tools
- Capable of logical fault isolation under pressure and minimal supervision
- Experience supporting telecommunications or ISP-level networks
