OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our growing technical team in Lekki, Lagos. This role is critical to maintaining the reliability, availability, and peak performance of our IT and telecommunications infrastructure.
As a NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response across core network systems. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct 24 / 7 network surveillance and monitoring to detect faults and performance issues.
Perform system administration tasks across all network elements.
Troubleshoot and resolve network problems proactively to prevent outages.
Analyze traffic patterns, identify anomalies, and escalate to design/engineering teams where necessary.
Manage escalations to third-level support when issues cannot be resolved within the NOC.
Maintain accurate incident logs and utilize diagnostic/monitoring tools effectively.
Track vendor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and escalate non-compliance or service gaps.
Ensure timely resolution of customer-reported and system-reported incidents.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize workflows and enhance reliability.
RequirementsQualifications:Education:
B.Sc./HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2–4 years in a NOC, telecom operations, or technical support role.
Certifications:
Required: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Preferred: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certifications
Technical SkillsProficiency with Cisco switches and IP network administration.
Strong understanding of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and microwave technologies (PtP/PtMP).
Experience with DWDM/OTN and fiber diagnostic tools (OTDR, E-Analyzer, SDH Analyzer).
Ability to troubleshoot across multiple layers of the OSI model.
Familiarity with NOC monitoring platforms, ticketing systems, and alerting tools.
Skilled at fault isolation and resolution under pressure, with minimal supervision.
Background in telecommunications or ISP-level network operations.
Soft SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Calm, disciplined, and effective in high-pressure situations.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working in multicultural environments.
Shift RequirementsMust be willing to work on a 24/7 rotating shift, including weekends and public holidays.

As a NOC Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of the network. Job Responsibilities - Key Result Areas
Network Monitoring and Maintenance
· effectively monitoring the organization's network infrastructure

Ticket Management and Troubleshooting

Network Performance Optimization
· Optimizing network performance by analysing network metrics

Documentation and Reporting
· Accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, issues, changes, and resolutions
· Maintaining network diagrams
· Documenting standard operating procedures
· Generating reports on network performance
· Ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
Collaboration and Teamwork
· Effective collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, vendors, and customers
· Clear and timely communication of network-related information
· Providing technical support and guidance, and fostering positive working relationships.
RequirementsSkills: Possesses expertise in networking technologies, network monitoring and troubleshooting, incident management, network equipment, network security, and excels in communication and collaboration.
Knowledge: ISP technologies, internet protocols, traffic engineering, data centre operations, SLAs, documentation and reporting, as well as industry standards and best practices.

Education and Experience
Education
· Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Experience
· Proven experience as a NOC Engineer or in a similar network operations role.
· Strong knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc.
· Proficiency in network monitoring tools and technologies, such as SNMP monitoring systems, packet analysers, etc.
· Familiarity with network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
· Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
· Ability to analyse and interpret network traffic and logs to diagnose issues.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
