Job Title:
Shift-in-Charge (Production Engineer – PET)

Department:
Production / Manufacturing

Salary: 300k – 400k

Reports To:
Production Manager / Plant Manager

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage PET production operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth plant performance, achievement of production targets, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety and operational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shift Operations Management
• Supervise and monitor PET production lines during the shift.
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities to operators and technicians.
• Ensure smooth changeover and handover between shifts.
• Production & Quality
• Achieve daily/shift production targets as per the production plan.
• Monitor PET bottle/container quality parameters to meet set standards.
• Reduce wastage, rework, and downtime.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance to resolve quality issues immediately.
• Maintenance Coordination
• Identify and report equipment breakdowns or abnormalities.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure proper upkeep of machines and tools.
• People & Team Management
• Supervise operators, helpers, and technicians on the shop floor.
• Provide on-the-job training to enhance workforce skills.
• Ensure discipline, safety, and adherence to SOPs.
• Safety & Compliance
• Enforce EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) practices across the production floor.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, and other regulatory standards.
• Maintain proper documentation and records as per company/industry standards.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare and submit shift-wise reports (production, downtime, wastage, manpower utilization).
• Maintain logbooks and checklists for machines and operations.
• Communicate effectively with the next shift to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Education:
• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
• Experience:
• 3–6 years of experience in PET bottle manufacturing / plastic injection molding / blow molding industry.
• Hands-on experience with PET preforms & bottle production lines (Injection Molding Machines, Blow Molding Machines, Compressors, Utilities).
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of production planning, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S practices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
