Job Summary
The Head of Engineering Services will lead the business's engineering division, overseeing oilfield engineering projects, technical service delivery, and the integration of engineering solutions into the company's oil spill management, waste treatment, and equipment supply businesses. This role requires deep expertise in oilfield and environmental engineering, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services to the business's clients.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the business's engineering services division.
- Drive innovation in oilfield engineering, oil spill management technologies, and waste treatment solutions.
- Develop technical strategies aligned with the business's growth and operational goals.
Project Management & Delivery
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects across oilfield operations, spill response, and environmental remediation.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and enforce engineering quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Technical Oversight
- Supervise engineering design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of OSR equipment and oilfield systems.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (API, ASME, ISO, IMO, IPIECA).
- Provide technical guidance for complex remediation, oil waste treatment, and oilfield service projects.
Team Development
- Lead and mentor engineers, technicians, and project managers.
- Drive a culture of safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate training and certification programs for engineering staff.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with regulators (NUPRC, NOSDRA, DPR), IOCs, NOCs, and contractors on technical projects.
- Manage vendor and partner relationships with international OSR and engineering companies.
- Support business development efforts with technical proposals and client presentations.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
- Master's degree in Engineering Management, Oil & Gas Engineering, or related field (will be an advantage).
Experience:
- Minimum 5–10 years experience in oilfield services, engineering management, or environmental remediation.
- Proven track record in leading engineering teams within the oil & gas servicing industry.
- Strong knowledge of oil spill response equipment, oil waste treatment systems, and oilfield engineering solutions.
Certifications:
- COREN Registered Engineer (mandatory).
- PMP/PRINCE2 certification (preferred).
- HSE certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Excellent project planning, budgeting, and execution skills.
