Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various construction-related laboratory tests, including soil, asphalt, concrete, and field tests, ensuring that all results comply with applicable construction standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in testing, and the ability to work collaboratively with the team.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests, including tests on concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates, ensuring compliance with construction standards. < r>• ssist in secondary testing related to permeability, strength, and materials acceptance of soil, concrete, and asphalt. < r>• P epare and maintain accurate laboratory records for samples and tests according to applicable construction standards. < r>• C mpile, input, and report testing results accurately. < r>• E sure the laboratory is in compliance with accreditation standards. < r>• R cord and maintain equipment calibration and verification logs. < r>• P rform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. < r>Qualifications and Experience
• F r Laboratory Assistants: < r>o Minimum of School Certificate and/or OND in a related field with experience in a construction laboratory.
• F r Laboratory Technicians and Senior Laboratory Technicians: < r>o Degree/HND in Civil Engineering/Technology, Geosciences, or related field is required.
o Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant working experience in a construction laboratory, particularly in soil, asphalt, concrete, and field tests.
o Computer proficiency is mandatory for Senior Laboratory Technicians.
Key Skills
• S rong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and recording results. < r>• G od understanding of construction laboratory operations and test methodologies. < r>• P oficiency in the use of laboratory equipment and tools. < r>• A ility to work in a team-oriented environment. < r>• C mputer skills for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
