Role Overview
The Investment & Finance Manager will play a critical role in building the financial engine and sustainability roadmap of both Caring Africa and Caring Blocks . This individual will lead our fundraising, financial management, and investment strategy—including overseeing grants, donor reporting, philanthropic partnerships, and care economy investments such as the Care Foundry . The ideal candidate is as comfortable crafting pitch decks as they are reconciling accounts and building financial models.
You will work closely with leadership, business development, policy, and operations teams to unlock and manage capital—from grants and blended finance to private equity and public sector funding.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Capital Mobilization
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy across grants, sponsorships, investments, and philanthropic capital.
- Prepare compelling financial narratives, budgets, and supporting documents for funding proposals.
- Cultivate relationships with local and international funders including foundations, DFIs, CSR departments, and impact investors.
- Maintain a robust grant and donor pipeline, including timely application submissions and follow-ups.
Financial Strategy & Management
- Manage organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across both entities.
- Support program and tech teams in developing and monitoring project budgets.
- Ensure accurate, transparent reporting and reconciliation of all expenditures.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable financial insights to the executive team.
Grant Compliance & Donor Reporting
- Oversee grant administration, including tracking deliverables, preparing donor reports, and ensuring adherence to funding guidelines.
- Collaborate with HR, legal, and program leads to ensure all financial and programmatic obligations are met.
Investment & Capital Strategy (Care Foundry)
- Work with the CEO to conceptualize and structure the Care Foundry, a mechanism to unlock investment into care infrastructure and innovation across Africa.
- Identify investable care ventures and potential co-investors.
- Build financial models and frameworks for blended finance, venture philanthropy, or impact-first capital approaches.
Systems, Policies, and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, funder requirements, and global best practices in nonprofit and hybrid financial operations.
- Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain clear, accessible, and timely documentation of all financial records and policies.

We're looking for an experienced Inventory Management Officer who will be responsible for administrating the organization's policies and procedures to control and monitor PalmPay's assets including properties, plants, vehicles and equipment. Monitors asset lifecycles, inventories, locations, and replacements, and maintains status and costs.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Develop an organizational philosophy for comprehensive management and accounting of PalmPay's assets. Coordinate processes and documentation required for new asset acquisition, disposal, replacement, and tracking of lost or stolen assets
- Conduct periodic audits, spot checks, and physical verification counting and ensure compliance with asset regulation rules/laws
- Manage an active depreciation schedule to ensure the asset's book value is constantly updated and appropriate taxes are applied and paid. Work with vendors and cross-functional groups to maintain accurate & complete asset data
- Develop and implement an asset management system, and ensure all assets are properly classified, categorized and recorded in the SAP system

Blended Finance is a key tool in the execution of IFC's 3.0 strategy of Creating Markets. The Blended Finance Department now manages a pool of contributor funds of over $7 billion focused on accelerating IFC's engagement in the most developmentally impactful areas: IDA and FCS countries, climate, SME and agriculture. The blended concessional facilities managed by the Blended Finance team is structured to co-finance, along with IFC funding, investment projects to address market barriers in private sector projects. These funds are deployed alongside IFC's own resources, thus enabling IFC to invest in projects that would not otherwise take place without a co-investment on concessional terms.
The Blended Finance team's role is to optimize the co-investment of funds from contributors, on concessional terms and considering the contributors' risk appetite, and in line with IFC's blended finance approach, governance and principles. Such concessional funds are able to accept higher risk/ lower return than commercial funds while not providing pure grants.
The Blended Finance – New Business and Portfolio (CBFNP) division sits in the Partnerships & Blended Finance Department. Within this division, there are investment officers that work on blended finance transactions supporting, IFC's projects being developed across industries and regions. - Experience in investment and portfolio management processes, equity, quasi-equity, loan, guarantee and other investment documentation, accounting and financial statement analysis.

Blended Finance is a key tool in the execution of IFC's 3.0 strategy of Creating Markets. The Blended Finance Department now manages a pool of contributor funds of over $7 billion focused on accelerating IFC's engagement in the most developmentally impactful areas: IDA and FCS countries, climate, SME and agriculture. The blended concessional facilities managed by the Blended Finance team is structured to co-finance, along with IFC funding, investment projects to address market barriers in private sector projects. These funds are deployed alongside IFC's own resources, thus enabling IFC to invest in projects that would not otherwise take place without a co-investment on concessional terms.
The Blended Finance team's role is to optimize the co-investment of funds from contributors, on concessional terms and considering the contributors' risk appetite, and in line with IFC's blended finance approach, governance and principles. Such concessional funds are able to accept higher risk/ lower return than commercial funds while not providing pure grants.
The Blended Finance – New Business and Portfolio (CBFNP) division sits in the Partnerships & Blended Finance Department. Within this division, there are investment officers that work on blended finance transactions supporting, IFC's projects being developed across industries and regions. These blended finance transactions may use different blended finance facilities, including the IDA Private sector Window (PSW), Concessional Capital Window (CCW), the Frontier Opportunities Fund (FOF), and other the Blended Finance for Climate facilities, the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), SME-, or agriculture-focused blended finance facilities. The goal of this work is to enable IFC to have a much deeper impact and footprint in the most difficult countries and sectors through blended finance investments.
Increasing our physical footprint to cover key BF consuming regions such as Africa and the Middle East is central to the successful delivery of the IFC BF program in the coming years especially in FCS (Fragile & Conflict-affected Situations) countries. This Associate Investment Officer/Investment Officer position is an exciting opportunity to work globally on some of the most high-impact projects alongside IFC industries. Being part of CBFNP, this position will also provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to work across different industry groups and regions within a creative and results-oriented environment. She/he will report to the Blended Finance Senior Manager.
Role & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work with teams to identify and assess potential Blended Finance projects (including projects to be processed under the IDA PSW, CCW, FOF and BFF and LCF, the various Blended Finance for Climate, GAFSP Private Sector Window, the Gates Foundation partnership, the Global SME Finance and the Women Entrepreneur Financing Facility (We-Fi) and other blended finance facilities) and innovative programs/platforms and liaise with staff to monitor and support the expansion of Blended Finance pipeline.
- Contribute to origination and marketing activities across Africa cluster, supporting activity in assigned countries/sectors, and that may include the preparation of BF pitch books, conducting internal/external regional workshops, and collaboration with IFC regional management and WBG teams to identify opportunities based on country strategies and market creation potential.
- Contribute to investment structuring related to the blended finance component of projects, platforms & programs including modeling of respective risks and subsidies, and to assess the products/structure that meets the project needs and has an adequate risk/return for the contributor.
- Work closely with IFC investment teams to prepare and take responsibility for documentation and processing of blended finance co-investment to Blended Finance Committee/Director and for contributing to the IFC investment proposal, Board documentation and client legal agreements.
- Attend appraisal on an as-needed basis depending on transaction team need for additional skills and analysis to be provided by the blended finance investment officer or if proposed co-investment structure has significantly different interests than the IFC investment requiring independent judgement on behalf of the donors.
- Liaise with relevant staff and identify and monitor weaknesses, risks and early warning signals in the portfolio of contributor-funded projects to assess progress and performance.
- Analyze and process client requests, including disbursements, waivers, and amendments related to the contributor-funded co-investment.
- Assist in the preparation of analytical reports, strategy documents, briefs and project profiles.
- Contribute to team's knowledge management initiative, including communication products to share information and lessons of Blended Finance co-investments with internal and external stakeholders, in particular contributing partners.
- Prepare reports and presentations on the portfolio's performance for internal and external audiences.
- Engage with donors and support fundraising and new initiative development as needed.
