Job Summary
Our client is seeking for an individual that will assume responsibility for Underwriter role. br>Duties and Responsibilities:
Review insurance applications, proposals, and supporting documentation.
Evaluate the degree of risk involved and decide whether to offer coverage.
Determine policy terms, coverage limits, and appropriate premium pricing.
Collaborate with brokers, agents, and actuaries to obtain additional information or clarify data.
Use underwriting software and manual guidelines to assess and price risks.
Maintain detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
Monitor existing policies for renewal and adjust terms or pricing based on updated risk evaluations.
Ensure compliance with underwriting policies, regulatory standards, and internal controls.
Recommend acceptance, modification, or rejection of insurance applications.
Contribute to product development and risk modeling strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. < r>Professional certifications (e.g., CIIN, ACII) are an added advantage.
2+ years of underwriting experience in life, health, property, or general insurance.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Good communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting tools or systems.
Key Competencies:
Risk assessment and analytical thinking
Attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of insurance products and regulations
Time management and organizational skills
Team collaboration and stakeholder engagement
