Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven HR / Industrial Relations Manager to lead our Human Resources function in Nasarawa. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial relations and a strong background in general HR management within the FMCG or manufacturing sectors. This role is pivotal in ensuring a harmonious work environment, managing employee relations, and aligning HR strategy with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations:
Act as the primary liaison between management and labor unions.
Lead negotiations and manage collective bargaining agreements, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Resolve industrial disputes, grievances, and disciplinary issues effectively and in a timely manner.
Develop and implement strategies to foster a positive and productive relationship with employees and union representatives.
HR Management:
Oversee all core HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee onboarding, and offboarding.
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Manage employee engagement and retention initiatives to boost morale and productivity.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state labor laws and regulations.
Administer compensation and benefits, ensuring they are competitive and fair.
Strategic & Administrative:
Provide strategic guidance to senior management on HR and IR matters.
Prepare and manage the HR budget.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and reports.
Mentor and guide the junior HR team.
Requirements
Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a strong emphasis on Industrial Relations.
Industry Background: Must have prior experience in the FMCG or Manufacturing sector.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPM) is a strong advantage.
Skills:
Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Deep knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and industrial relations practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to work effectively with unions and diverse employee groups.
Excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits
Budget: N18,000,000 - N20,000,000 per annum ctc
Accommodation: Provided by the company.
Other benefits as per company policy.
