Role
To supervise, coordinate, and execute the construction of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) roads in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety guidelines, and project timelines. The Foreman will oversee daily site activities, manage skilled and unskilled manpower, and ensure effective utilization of equipment, materials, and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site activities related to CRCP road construction.
- Ensure correct placement, alignment, and tying of steel reinforcement as per approved drawings.
- Oversee batching, transportation, placement, compaction, and finishing of concrete.
- Monitor curing process and ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
- Ensure efficient utilization and maintenance of road construction machinery such as pavers, vibrators, and curing equipment.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce safety compliance among site workers.
- Liaise with Site Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Surveyors to resolve construction and alignment issues.
- Track material consumption (cement, aggregates, steel, admixtures, etc.) and prevent wastage.
- Prepare daily progress reports and update project management on work status.
- Train and guide workers for proper handling of reinforcement, formwork, and concrete finishing.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and Nigerian regulatory norms.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 810 years experience in road construction, with at least 5 years in CRCP projects.
- Proven ability to supervise large teams of masons, steel fixers, carpenters, and Paver operators.
- Sound knowledge of concrete technology, reinforcement detailing, and road construction practices.
- Should have working knowledge of Slipform Pavers (Wirtgen)
- Experience of working on large Road projects in India, Africa or Middle East.
- Should have decent command of written and oral ENGLISH
Salary :
- Net Salary of $2000 - $2500 per month + Accommodation + Transport + Medical Insurance + Life Insurance + Return Ticket to India (To & Fro) every 6 Months with 3 weeks leave each time
