Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Head of Engineering to lead and oversee all engineering functions within our natural rubber manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating teams across mechanical, electrical, welding, forklift maintenance, and plumbing, ensuring efficient operation, safety, and uptime of critical plant machinery and infrastructure.
This role demands in-depth technical knowledge of key production equipment such as creepers, conveyor belts and buckets, ovens, electrical panels, and motors. The successful candidate will also play a strategic role in preventive maintenance planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, and coordinate the activities of the engineering department including mechanical, electrical, welding, forklift maintenance, and plumbing teams. < r>• nsure optimal performance and reliability of production equipment such as: < r>o Creepers
o Conveyor belts and buckets
o Ovens and dryers
o Electrical panels and industrial motors etc.
• D velop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. < r>• T oubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems in a timely and effective manner. < r>• C llaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to support operational goals. < r>• E sure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. < r>• M nage departmental budgets, procurements, and spare part inventories. < r>• P ovide leadership, mentorship, and technical training to engineering staff. < r>• S pport new equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities. < r>• D ive continuous improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives in engineering operations. < r>Required Qualifications and Experience:
• B chelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field); Master's degree is a plus. < r>• M nimum 8 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in natural rubber or related industries. < r>• P oven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams. < r>• S rong knowledge and hands-on experience with: < r>o Creepers and rubber-processing machinery
o Conveyor systems
o Drying ovens and heat-processing units
o Electrical panels and control systems
o Industrial motors and drives
• S lid understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles. < r>• F miliarity with industrial safety standards and best practices. < r>• S rong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. < r>• P oficient in MS Office and maintenance management software (CMMS preferred). < r>Preferred Skills:
• K owledge of lean manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles. < r>• E perience in troubleshooting and upgrading automation/control systems. < r>• A ility to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. < r>Compensation:
