The fleet operations manager is responsible for the overall management of the company's fleet of vehicles. You will have supervisory oversight over all officers in the value chain of operations support. These include Mechanics, Electricians and Fleet Officers.

• Minimum Qualification : Degree
• Experience Level : Senior level
• Experience Length : 5 years

Responsibilities:

• Draw up weekly/monthly operational planning schedules for the unit.
• Ensure implementation of standard operational procedures for fleet management.
• Ensure fleet availability to meet all requests by scheduling, forecasting and surveying current user trends.
• Ensure use of fleet management software to monitor vehicle performance and cost.
• Monitor and coordinate all activities of the fleet officers.
• Prepare and manage annual operations budget.
• Supervise maintenance of vehicles to reduce downtime due to repairs.
• Ensure proper vehicle registration and documentation for all vehicles within the fleet.
• Streamline and monitor fuel purchase system with the use of Fuel Cards for all vehicles and drivers.
• Monitor and ensure fleet operations in compliance with government regulations.
• Collaborate with human resources to ensure addition of quality drivers to the fleet.
• Ensure proper drivers management to prevent bad behavior among drivers and reduce high maintenance cost.
  Regular monitoring of fleets to avoid use of vehicles for unauthorized movements.

Requirements:

• A minimum of B.Sc.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in fleet operations management.
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations, safety standards, and compliance procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to create and implement operational strategies for fleet management, onboarding, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
• Proficient in using technology and platforms to manage fleet and operations.
• Ability to manage budgets, analyze performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities

Driver Assignment & Coordination

● Assign drivers to bookings and ensure punctuality (drivers to arrive 15 minutes early).

● Manage the driver timetable

● Maintain a pool of active drivers to cover operational needs.

● Keep trip assignment logs and track post-trip conditions.

● Send trip itenary to assigned drivers on time

● Ensure drivers punctuality for bookings

● Ensure all pilots reports before and after trips are accurately reported.

Driver Recruitment, Training & Management

● Recruit, screen, and onboard qualified drivers.

● Maintain up-to-date driver documentation (licenses, certificates).

● Organize safety and service training programs.

● Monitor driving behavior and enforce company standards.

● Organize assessment quiz weekly for drivers

Compliance & Professional Standards

● Ensure drivers comply with traffic laws, insurance policies, and internal policies.

● Maintain strict dress code and professional conduct guidelines.

● Track performance and implement corrective actions where needed.

Customer Service & Trip Coordination

● Ensure smooth communication between drivers and clients.

● Resolve operational issues that arise during bookings.

● Collect customer feedback to measure driver satisfaction.

Safety & Risk Management

● Investigate incidents and accidents involving drivers.

● Implement corrective measures and safety policies.

● Ensure all drivers complete safety training programs.

Qualifications & Skills

● Bachelor's in Business Admin, HR, Logistics, or related field.

● 2+ years of experience in driver/fleet operations or HR for transport.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to resolve conflicts and manage teams.

● Knowledge of road safety regulations and transport compliance.

● Proficiency with scheduling and reporting tools.
