Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all necessary Equipment needed for events is prepped and ready on time
  • Monitor all unfinished goods and ensure that they are stored appropriately
  • Monitor all ad hoc Staff and ensure all equipment is handled with care
  • Coordinate logistics of equipment from the bakery to the event site and back
  • Inspect all equipment after every rental to monitor for mismanagement and ensure the accurate number of items is returned
  • Ensure that rentals are done in compliance with the organization's policies
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of inventory
  • Report all damaged equipment
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and properly kept in the store
  • Ensure that events run smoothly on site and that clients are happy with our services.
    Perform other related duties assigned by the operations manager and creative director.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • SSCE certificate is required

Role Description

This is a volunteer, hybrid role for an Event Coordinator, with the position located in Lagos but some work from home is acceptable.

The Event Coordinator will be responsible for

  • Planning and organizing events, managing event logistics.

Event Marketing & Promotion:

  • Work with Marketing and Editorial teams to develop promotional strategies across social media, email newsletters, and press releases
  • Oversee pre-event communication, including registration campaigns, reminder workflows, and audience segmentation.
  • Manage post-event engagement strategies, including follow-up campaigns to convert leads and retain attendees
  • Support the coordination of post-event follow-ups focused on lead nurturing and business development
    Ensure events are positioned as premium experiences that enhance Awari's market reputation

Cross-Functional Project Coordination:

  • Support digital projects tied to growth initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader company goals.
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables across departments to execute campaigns and content rollouts effectively.
  • Manage the operational aspects of digital activations, ensuring smooth workflows and consistent quality.
  • Manage operational projects that support event delivery, including marketing campaigns and co-branded content initiatives
  • Facilitate collaboration between teams to ensure seamless execution of event-supporting activities
    Monitor project budgets and resource allocation to optimise event outcomes

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain systems for tracking event metrics, including redemption, engagement, and conversion data.
  • Deliver timely, data-driven post-event reports with actionable recommendations for optimisation.
  • Lead post-mortem sessions to capture lessons learned and implement process improvements.
