Role Description

This is an on-site full-time role located in Lagos for an Engineering Geologist. The role involves overseeing all aspects of foundation investigations, construction activities, and on-site operations to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and in compliance with standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise foundation investigations and the installation/construction of project works.
  • Oversee and monitor both on-site and laboratory soil sample analyses.
  • Conduct Pile Integrity Tests (PIT).
  • Perform structural integrity assessments, including ultrasonic testing.
  • Manage health, safety, and environmental (HSE) issues on-site.
  • Supervise drillers, casters, and iron benders during site operations.
  • Collaborate with surveyors to establish accurate points for pile installation.
  • Determine appropriate equipment and material quantities required for project execution.
  • Ensure timely delivery of necessary equipment and materials to the site.
  • Oversee equipment test-runs to verify operational effectiveness.
  • Supervise equipment setup to ensure readiness for work commencement.
  • Collaborate with the project manager on budgeting, cost control, and financial accountability.
  • Manage on-site equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements on-site.
  • Deliver projects with optimal quality while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Oversee end-to-end project execution from initiation to completion.
  • Prepare and submit periodic progress and completion reports within stipulated timelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Geology, Geophysics, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of a Second-Class Lower (2:2) degree from a recognized and reputable institution.
  • 3–4 years' proven experience working as a geologist or in a related field.
  • Familiarity with basic geological computer programs used for analyzing samples and geological data.
  • Strong scientific reasoning, analytical skills, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Hands-on knowledge of pile installation, subsoil investigation, and geophysical survey techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated research capabilities and willingness to learn new analytical tests, instrumentation, and procedures.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable with a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and balance multiple tasks.
  • Commitment to full compliance with company Health & Safety policies, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct.
  • Solid understanding of geological and geotechnical interpretation, including geological origins and processes.
  • Evidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular development within the field.

The position

As the transaction success manager, you will work closely with other team leaders within and outside the engineering department to ensure quick identification and resolution of production issues while proactively creating early warning systems and real-time transaction monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the process of issue resolution of all applications on live environment
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of all application technical documentation.
  • Work with other teams to create a proactive monitoring and early alert system for monitoring downtimes and anomalies.
  • In charge of ensuring minimum 99% up-time on all channels.
Requirements


• A minimum of 5 years' development experience working with PHP (Laravel framework).


• Strong working knowledge of databases and SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).


• Proven experience building and maintaining high-performance, high-availability web applications using open-source technologies.


• Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud infrastructure services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).


• Solid understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools like Docker Swarm or Kubernetes.


• Hands-on experience with AWS Fargate for containerized application deployment.


• Experience working in a CI/CD environment, using tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy


• Lead and grow a cross-functional engineering team (backend, frontend, DevOps, QA, security).


• Define and own the engineering roadmap across projects.


• Translate business requirements into technical architecture and delivery plans.


• Partner with product and project management teams to align priorities and timelines.


• Mentor engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

Technical Execution


• Oversee backend and frontend development across multiple platforms.

• Strong track record of delivering complex technology projects (fintech, enterprise SaaS, or similar industries).


• Expertise in:


• Backend technologies , Java, or Python).


• Frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).


• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).


• Infrastructure & DevOps (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).


• Security practices and compliance frameworks.


• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
