About the Role Our client, a pioneering automotive technology firm, is seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Software Developer to spearhead their software development initiatives in **Kano**. This is a critical role requiring a leader with a deep understanding of embedded systems, vehicle communication protocols, and modern software engineering practices. You will be responsible for guiding a team of talented developers, architecting robust software solutions for in-car infotainment systems, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and vehicle control units. This position is based at our client's primary development center, fostering a collaborative and innovative on-site environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of automotive software developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Architect, design, and implement complex software solutions for automotive applications, adhering to industry standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, MISRA C/C++).
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Develop and optimize software for embedded systems, ensuring real-time performance, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, system architects, and product managers to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and code review processes within the team.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and system testing strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and performance issues.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive software technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps and strategic planning for future software development projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or senior role, managing software development teams.
  • Extensive experience with embedded C/C++ programming and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and protocols like SOME/IP.
  • Familiarity with automotive software architectures like AUTOSAR.
  • Experience with software development tools, including version control (Git), build systems, and debuggers.
  • Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles in automotive applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
