Job SummaryThe Community Organizer/ Program Officer will play a central role in designing, implementing, and monitoring the organization's programs while building strong relationships with communities and stakeholders. This role requires creativity, people skills, and strong organizational ability to translate the NGO's mission into real impact on the ground.

Responsibilities:
Program Management
- Assist in the design and planning of projects, including work plans and budgets.
- Coordinate program activities, workshops, trainings, and community events.
- Monitor program implementation to ensure alignment with goals, timelines, and donor requirements.
Prepare program activity reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) for management and donors.
Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with community members, local leaders, and partners.
- Mobilize community participation in programs and advocacy campaigns.
- Document community needs, success stories, and feedback to inform program improvements.
Represent the NGO at community meetings and relevant forums.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
- Track program outputs, outcomes, and impact using agreed indicators.
- Collect and analyze data from the field and provide feedback to improve interventions.
- Support the development of case studies, success stories, and program briefs.
- Resource Mobilization & Partnerships
- Support proposal writing and concept notes for funding opportunities.
- Identify and engage potential local partners and collaborators.
Contribute to visibility efforts through social media content and storytelling from the field.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Community Development, or related field.
- 1-2 years' experience in program implementation, community organizing, or NGO work.
- Strong facilitation and mobilization skills.
- Basic knowledge of project management and MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning).
- Good writing skills for reports, proposals, and storytelling.
- Ability to work with diverse groups and adapt to grassroots contexts.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data collection tools is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to community empowerment.
- Proficiency in any of the 3 indigenous languages (knowledge of the Egun language will be an added advantage)
- Willingness to work the occasional Saturday
- Preference for candidates residing within close proximity to Ojodu Berger
