Job Summary:
The Encourager Association is seeking a creative and highly motivated Social Media and Community Coordinator Intern to join our team in Lagos Nigeria. This is a paid professional internship designed for a recent graduate or someone looking to gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and community engagement within a non-profit setting.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual who is not afraid to be in front of the camera, has a keen eye for detail, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for developing and executing our social media strategy, creating engaging content, and fostering a vibrant online community.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
Produce compelling video content for various social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts). This includes conceptualizing, filming, and editing videos.
Video and Graphic Design:
Utilize basic graphic design skills to create visually appealing posts and promotional materials. Edit videos to a high standard, ensuring they are engaging and on-brand.
Social Media Management:
Schedule and post content across all social media channels. Monitor social media trends and implement best practices to increase reach and engagement.
Community Engagement:
Interact with our online community by responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner. Help build a positive and supportive online environment.
Acting/On-Camera Presence:
Be comfortable and confident in acting roles for videos and other promotional materials.
Attention to Detail:
Ensure all content is free of errors, consistent with brand guidelines, and aligns with the organization's mission.
Adaptability:
Work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Requirements:
- Must be located in Lagos Nigeria.
- Enrolled in or a recent graduate of a program in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Proven experience in video editing (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Familiarity with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express).
- Comfortable and confident in acting and appearing on camera.
- Strong understanding of various social media platforms and their respective algorithms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A portfolio or examples of previous work (videos, social media accounts, etc.) is highly encouraged.
- A passion for the mission of The Encourager Association.

- The Programme Coordinator will be required from time to travel to communities in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.
Contract Duration: 2 years
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit detailed monthly work plan for the various units of the project.
- Coordinate the implementation of Projects in a timely manner and be responsible for its technical oversight in line with JDPH policies and practices.
- Provide input for the development of technical reports and other project outputs.
- Design and develop databases to support Project implementation activities.
- Liaise and coordinate activities with the relevant sectors and departments to support the implementation of Projects.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of grant requests and funding continuation from donors.
