This is an opportunity to work on a key project, supporting the growth and success of our organization.
Position Context:
The position is assigned to manage important consultancy projects for the development of the new standard gauge railway system in the Country. At the moment, two major projects (200km and 400km respectively) are being developed, with construction activities, as of today, estimated for another 3
The Railway Infrastructure Design Manager will report to the Technical Director and will work within an international team, composed of both expat and local technical staff, and will be responsible for leading multifunctional teams of highly skilledengineers in chargeof the vetting of the design drawingsprepared by the Contractor entrusted by the Client for the construction of the railway line.
The team will support the Client (Government body) in the technical Quality Assurance of the Project. The activities will include:
- Vetting/Checking of design drawings, according to international standards (and most suitable technical parameters/solutions applicable to the specific project), prior to the construction phase;
- Technical comments issued,regularly on the basis of the design vetting activities;
- Coordination of the different disciplines involved in the project such as, for example, alignment, permanent way, structures, hydraulics, geotechnics, buildings, MEP and technological systems in general;
- Interactive technical meetingswith the Contractor and the Client;
- Periodic visits to the sites of the infrastructure, in coordination with the on-siteWork;
- Supervision Team.
The ideal candidate would have:
- High level of education (Masterof Civil/Transport/Railway Engineering Degree);
- Minimum 10 years of experience on similar projects/assignments;
- Excellent English (spokenand written);
- Knowledge of international standards and regulations (BS, Eurocode);
- Previous experience in design coordination of railway projects.
- Capability to handlemultitasks and sortingpriorities,
- Strong interpersonal skills such as negotiating, problem solving, teamworking and knowledge sharing
- Capability to make sure that any internalas well as external stakeholders has the right level of information at the right moment.
- Proactivity, goal orientation and ability to work with tight schedule sare required.
- Proficiency in MS Office;
- Proficiency in CAD software.
Additional Knowledge, Experiences:
- Knowledge and experience in software and management procedures.
- Knowledge of "Code for Design of Railway Line" of the People's Republic of China is a preferential factor.
