We are looking for an experienced and creative Chef to lead our kitchen operations in Port Harcourt. Responsibilities
Menu Planning and Development: Designing and updating menus to include a variety of dishes that meet customer preferences and restaurant standards.
* Food Preparation: Overseeing and participating in the preparation and cooking of food to ensure that dishes meet the restaurant's quality and consistency standards.
* Supervision and Management: Managing the kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and delegating tasks to maintain efficiency and high standards.
* Inventory Management: Monitoring food supplies and ordering ingredients as needed to avoid shortages and ensure freshness.
* Cost Control: Managing food costs by minimizing waste, optimizing ingredient usage, and adhering to budget guidelines.
* Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations: Ensuring the kitchen adheres to health, safety, and hygiene standards, including food storage, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance.
* Quality Control: Tasting dishes to maintain consistency and quality before they are served to customers.
* Innovation: Creating new recipes and adapting existing ones to keep the menu exciting and innovative.
* Collaboration: Working closely with restaurant management to plan special events, promotions, or seasonal menu changes.
* Customer Interaction: Occasionally interacting with customers to receive feedback, handle complaints, or provide personalized service.
* Problem Solving: Addressing issues that arise during service, such as equipment malfunctions or staffing challenges, to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements*
Minimum of 10 years experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen (restaurant, hotel, or catering)
Proven ability to manage kitchen operations and lead a team
Strong understanding of various cuisines and modern cooking techniques
Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (local and international)
Strong organizational and time management skills
Creativity and passion for culinary innovation
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Culinary certification or relevant training is required.

- Manage and track inventory of produce supplies, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste/B&D.

- Supervise all staff at your location assigned to ensure effective daily operations.
- Work with store associate to assign cleaning responsibilities to everyone including yourself
