Naijatutors Konnect is a leading education services platform connecting learners, parents with Nigerian tutors. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality learning experiences through structured operations, excellent client support, and data-driven systems.
We are seeking a Head of Operations to oversee and streamline our day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and world-class service delivery.
Role Overview
The Head of Operations will report directly to the CEO and serve as the central lead of the Operations Department. The role requires strategic leadership, excellent people management, and strong analytical skills to drive smooth service delivery across teams.
This role directly supervises:
- Head of Student Service
- Head of Client Support
- Student Bill and Tutor Payroll Specialist
- Data Analyst
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end client journey: From prospect handover to onboarding, class setup, scheduling and delivery, ongoing support and learning success, through to renewals and retention. Set clear service standards and handoffs.
- Onboarding and client success: Standardise onboarding with checklists, timelines, welcome messages, and class-readiness quality checks. Run a proactive success rhythm: using Data, track attendance and learning progress, schedule parent check-ins, flag risks, and take save actions with Student Service and Heads of Learning.
- Leadership and team enablement: Lead sub-unit heads, set goals, run daily stand-ups and weekly reviews, and ensure coverage across day, evening, and night shifts.
- Scheduling and capacity: Manage tutor and learner schedules, capacity planning, backfill, and no-show rules.
- Data, systems, and tools: Keep data accurate; maintain reliable dashboards and reports across Zoho and MeritHub. Control access, maintain integrations, and provide a brief to the Data Analyst on reporting requirements.
- Process, quality, and documentation: Maintain playbooks and standard operating procedures. Drive automation and error-proofing. Check the quality of classes, reports, and parent communications.
- Performance and metrics: Track service standards met, time to onboard, attendance, tutor utilization, quality scores, parent satisfaction, renewal rate, overdue invoice days, and payroll accuracy. Act on the insights.
- Finance operations: Oversee accurate, timely parent invoicing and tutor payroll. Reconcile sessions with billing and reduce disputes and write-offs.
- Incidents and escalations: Run a clear tiered escalation model for class issues, parent complaints, tutor gaps, and system outages. Lead root-cause reviews and preventive actions.
- Training and enablement: Deliver role onboarding and ongoing training for Student Service, Client Support, and Session Monitors.
- Risk, safeguarding, and compliance: Enforce privacy rules and child-safeguarding standards. Keep a live risk register.
- Cross-functional alignment: Coordinate with Learning and Curriculum, Marketing and Admissions, and Heads of Learning on staffing, program launches, peak periods, and parent communications.
- Business continuity and disaster recovery: Keep contingency plans for tutor shortages, platform downtime, and demand spikes. Run drills and reviews.
- Annual appraisals: Run performance reviews and development plans for all direct reports and their teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Educational Management, Education Administration, or related field (Masters is an advantage).
- Must have experience as Head of School, Principal or Vice Principal, Admin
- Minimum of 5–7 years of proven operations management experience, preferably in an EdTech, School, or service-based organization
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience supervising teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making ability.
- Familiarity with IT systems, data management, and process automation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across day or evening shift
