Job Details
- The IRC is seeking to hire a full time Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) in Nigeria to support projects across our portfolio of the education Global Research & Innovation Priority (GRIP).
- Our multi-disciplinary teams build, facilitate, and contribute to projects that span research and ideation through prototyping, piloting, evaluation and scaling. Our solutions are co-created in partnership with colleagues and partners from the regions where we work.
- You must be comfortable in a fast paced, collaborative and flexible working environment to help to manage the diverse, multi-disciplinary work. Experience working in cross-functional teams is essential.
The successful candidate will report to the Ed-Tech Specialist in Nigeria and will be responsible for providing technical leadership for all the education activities, including leading and coordinating the non-formal education program and systems support activities at the national and state level.
Key Responsibilities
Program/Project Design:
- Implements baseline, midline, and endline evaluations, as well as MEL data collection, particularly EGRA, EGMA and assessments.
- Conduct training for education staff on the MEL system, performance indicators, data quality assurance, and facilitative data collection with local partners and stakeholders.
- Participate in project review, especially in AMELP, Log frames, and learning agenda.
- With support from the MEL Coordinator, establish and maintain a project-level information management system.
- Closely work with the education program team to ensure the project has tested standard monitoring tools that capture both program activity and indicators' progress.
Ensure data collections tools are standardized and appropriately used to meet both organizational and donor requirements.
Monitoring, Evaluation And Learning
- Conduct routine monitoring visits to project locations, particularly learning centers.
- Support the conduct of the Teacher Classroom Observation (TCO) across project sites.
- Ensure data collected are routinely verified, analysis and reported according to the DQA standards.
- Ensure that data are readily available and store appropriately for any future reference.
- Conduct quarterly Data Quality Audits
- Facilitate collaborative learning sessions, with strategic innovations involving the client we served.
Perform clear statistical analysis on the data collected and present the findings/results to program colleagues for informed decisions.
Information Management And Reporting
- Support the establishing and maintaining project information management system.
- Ensure the appropriate reporting of field level data that is responsive and align to project indicators.
- Ensure proper tracking of project indicators, particularly recording and reporting data.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting by providing the verified data that's meets the DQA standards.
Work closely with advocacy communication coordinator to develope human interest stories that showcase the relevant and impact of EdTech and Innovation project.
Capacity Building And Supervision
- Provide technical training to project staff, partners, and project stakeholder particularly the Learning facilitators, mentor teachers and research assistant on data collection and management process.
- Train project staff, and partners' staff on project deliverables, especially the project result areas and indicators.
Engage in one-on-one mentorship with supervisors and subordinate for capacity enhancement.
Perform Other Duties Assigned By The Supervisor

Qualifications
- Education qualifications: Degree / Diploma in Statistics, Computer Science / IT/or any sector or sub-sector related field
Work Experience: – At least three (3)-years' experience working in monitoring and evaluation preferred.
Demonstrated Technical Skills
- Demonstrated strong skills in developing & conducting data collection such as: Kobo collect, Ona, Comcare, SurveyCTO, Mobenzi, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge on the use of statistical packages such as STATA, SPSS, Nvivo, Microsoft excel, QGIS, PowerBi, Tableu etc.
- Demonstrated report writing skill, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, think analytically and take initiative in solving problems.
- Familiarity with education programming with added advantage if implement USAID grant.

Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Senior Supply Assistant provides supply support to all activities pertaining to the supply chain function including planning, sourcing & procurement, transport, shipping, customs clearance, warehousing, assets & fleet management and monitoring within the area of responsibility (AoR).
The incumbent is supervised by a higher level supply position and receives regular guidance and instructions from the supervisor on successive steps. S/he works independently on routine tasks while follows instructions of the supervisor on more complex issues. Jireh Doo Foundation is therefore seeking candidates with a bachelor's degree or its equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years working in a similar role as a nutrition assistant and is familiar with the implementation of WFP projects, especially in Deep field locations.
Duties And Responsibilities
This role of the Nutrition Field Assistant is to provide support to the community nutrition workers in the Project's Communities in
implementing the nutrition interventions (Community Management of Malnutrition (CMAM) and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)) while integrating with other sectoral interventions.
- The nutrition Assistant will also work with other agencies providing nutrition services in ensuring the linkage of nutrition beneficiaries.
- Throughout the intervention the Nutrition Assistant will work towards ensuring the quality delivery of nutrition interventions in the Project locations.
- Ensure quality of nutrition screening for children under-5 conducted by Community Nutrition Mobilizers in target Communities.
- Provision of Outreach OTP Services in target communities together with the outreach team.
- Ensure quality of IYCF counselling sessions provided individual level and group sessions.
- With support from the Assistant Nutrition Officer, ensure quality cooking food demonstration sessions are conducted in Project supported Communities.
- Ensure that community nutrition interventions (MUAC screening and Referral, IYCF (MSGs, FSGs, food demonstrations) and hygiene promotion are integrated.
- Build capacity of CNMs, Lead Mother and Fathers by providing on-the-job training on CMAM and IYCF.
- Support Project level nutrition assessment/surveys as approved by Donor.
- Support quality data collection of activities conducted in the Communities.
- Promote increasing awareness of appropriate nutrition behaviour in project communities by ensuring behaviour change materials are visible in communities and health facilities.
- Ensure quality and timely reporting on all areas of implementation
- Liaise closely with the MEAL team so as to understand the project outcomes.
- Support the development of case studies and success stories from programme implementation.
Any other additional responsibility as communicated by the supervisor.
Essential
Qualification and experience
- Degree in Nutrition, Health, Public Health, or any related fields.
- Must have finished NYSC.
- Experience in Nutrition and community-based programming will be an added advantage
- Familiarity with the Humanitarian context.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive, and empathize with all beneficiaries and their caregivers
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Fluency in written and spoken English.

Description
- Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Grants and Compliance Manager who will be responsible for overseeing all critical aspects of the grant cycle from pre-award to post-award including donor compliance, timely and quality reporting, internal and external coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high quality and timely grant reporting from technical support staff and programme managers for submission to the Grants and Compliance Head of Department; undertake a qualitative review, and grammatical edit and ensure compliance to guidelines and donors' requirements, use of proper templates;
- Ensure that internal timelines and external deadlines are met; maintain the reporting tracker developed by HOD Grants and Compliance, follow up on inputs from project teams and technical staff, and update archive on NHF and in base;
- In collaboration with the Coordination Team (Program, WASH, FSL, Nutrition and Health, Log, Finance, MEAL coordinators), address any further follow-up question/s, comments, etc., to ensure compliant and quick submission of additional and/or revised information required;
- Coordinate responses to any donor feedback and ensure timely submission of requested feedback.;
- Develop internal knowledge of Action Against Hunger internal policies and reporting mechanisms; communication, advocacy, and cross-cutting policies, internal reporting APRs, situation reports, project updates, beneficiary count, and technical evaluations report;
- Ensure compliance with donor visibility requirements, edit and draft human interest stories, success stories, and photographs for donor reports and presentations;
- Assist the HOD Grants and Compliance and area coordinator in the development of grant portfolio summaries, project and donor briefs/updates;
- Assist in identifying potential opportunities for partnerships with local and international organizations and participating in the development of agreements and vetting process;
- Ensure comprehensive grant files are maintained up to date and are available for use in both hard and soft copy (proposals, contracts, amendments, reports, etc.);
- Facilitate the dissemination of knowledge management products, publications, factsheets
- Under the supervision of the HOD Grants and in close collaboration with area co and technical/program team Formulate concept notes and proposals; develop context, compile and edit narrative components, ensure budget templates are shared, monitor and compose other documents as necessary;
- Under the supervision of the HOD Grants and in close collaboration with area co and technical/program team, he/she will analyze and capitalize assessments (Rapid Needs Assessment), baselines, and field observations for needs identification;
- Under the supervision of the HOD Grants and close collaboration with area co and technical/program team, he/she will identify interventions to be presented to international/local donors when necessary;
- Assist with research on funding opportunities, and potential donors, partners, and their strategies;
- Facilitate kick-off, review, and closing meetings to ensure project objectives are being met and identify and challenges, delays, or deviations from the project plan; and communicate with donors, support any internal or external realignments as appropriate;
- Follow up with Program Managers and Technical Coordinators on Program Implementation and collection of data according to means of verification, from kick-off meeting to contract closure, to allow pro-activeness in the monitoring of the grant and related tasks (such as ad-hoc donor requirements or extension/amendment requests);
- Under the supervision of the HOD Grants develop grant revisions, cost extensions, budget realignments, and modifications;
- Facilitate training and capacity building for field teams, in particular, Program Managers and Field Coordinators on the Project Cycle Management Tools and internal reporting tools;
- Build the capacity of field staff to write and incorporate feedback on donor reports;
- Identify and communicate to program/technical, field, and M&E staff gaps in reporting/data collection;
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Action Against Hunger internal policies and proposal guidelines for donor organizations funding Nigeria programs/projects among project managers, technical as well as operational support staff.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Humanitarian Action (international relations, political science, law, etc.) or any related field of Arts or Science (or higher) in International Development, Social Studies, Economics, Rural Development, Geography, Agriculture, Livestock or related studies;
- At least 5 years of experience in international development, humanitarian assistance, international relations, or related sectors in similar settings and responsibilities;
- Fluency in English and an additional advantage of fluency in Hausa and Kanuri;
- Excellent experience in proposal and report writing, donor rules and regulations, validation procedures, and coordination of processes;
- Experience in Project Cycle Management, theory of change, and project implementation tools;
- Strong commitment to Mission objectives and general knowledge of programmatic areas (FSL, WASH, Nutrition, and Social Protection);
- Ability to write donor reports and proposals in excellent English;
- At least 3 years as a Grant Writer or similar (i.e. Project Officer);
- Knowledge of key institutional donors, including ECHO, USAID (FFP, OFDA), SDC, SIDA, GAC, OCHA, and AECID;
- Knowledge of Humanitarian principles, Sphere project minimum standard, gender, protection, and conflict sensitivity.
