OND/HND in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering br>2–5 years of experience operating distillation units in distilleries (molasses, grain, or juice-based) < r>Candidates must be familiar with continuous and multi-pressure distillation systems, including slop distillation and fusel oil recovery processes.
Experience working with automation systems such as SCADA, DCS, or PLC is highly desirable.
Must be able to monitor and control key process parameters, such as reflux ratio, temperature, pressure, steam and water flow, and feed rates.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor distillation columns (rectifier, analyzer, stripper) to maintain desired product purity (ENA, RS, fuel ethanol).
Ensure a steady and controlled feed of fermented wash with accurate flow and temperature management.
Adjust key process parameters, including Reflux ratio, Column temperature and pressure, Steam and cooling water flow, Feed rate, and fraction cut points
Collect and analyze samples to monitor alcohol strength, impurities, and other indicators.
Use PLC/SCADA/DCS systems to track and log critical process data.
Oversee the proper handling of product and residue streams such as impure spirit, fusel oil, and slop.
Inspect equipment for leakages, vibrations, or unusual pressure/temperature conditions.
Verify the working condition of pumps, heat exchangers, condensers, and reboilers.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and minor equipment troubleshooting with the maintenance team.
Follow all SOPs, safety protocols, and EHS standards, including proper use of PPE.
Maintain cleanliness around the distillation unit and associated pipelines.
Report any abnormalities (off-spec product, temperature spikes, contamination, etc.) promptly.
Keep accurate production logs, batch records, and shift handover notes.
