Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including artist agreements, service retainers, NDAs, licensing deals, partnership MOUs, and vendor contracts
Advise on legal matters affecting talent management, content distribution, brand partnerships, and intellectual property
Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian laws and international standards relevant to the music and creative industry
Support the resolution of disputes or potential legal issues involving artists, partners, or vendors
Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary on complex or high-stakes matters
Maintain an organized repository of all executed agreements and legal documents
Develop and update contract templates and internal legal policies
Monitor contract renewals, expirations, and obligations
Provide legal insights during strategic planning, business development, and project launches
Support training of staff and artists on legal rights, obligations, and brand protection
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) and call to the Nigerian Bar (B.L) < r>
2–4 years of experience in entertainment law, media, intellectual property, or corporate law < r>
Strong understanding of contract law, copyright, licensing, and commercial negotiations
Excellent legal writing, communication, and advisory skills
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple legal processes simultaneously
Familiarity with the Nigerian entertainment landscape and creative ecosystems is an added advantage
