Job Description
Our client, a rapidly expanding automotive manufacturing firm, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to enhance their production capabilities in Zaria, Kaduna, NG . This hybrid role combines essential on-site presence for hands-on equipment management with remote flexibility for analysis and planning. You will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing equipment critical to automotive production lines. Your expertise will ensure high levels of equipment uptime, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of automated manufacturing processes. You will work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations at our Zaria, Kaduna, NG facility.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production machinery.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and reliability.
- Design or modify existing equipment to enhance functionality, safety, or productivity.
- Collaborate with R&D and process engineering teams on new product introductions and equipment upgrades.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ensure all equipment operates in compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory and vendor relationships for equipment maintenance.
- Train maintenance technicians and operators on equipment best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing equipment engineering, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Proven experience with automation systems, robotics, CNC machinery, or assembly line equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software for equipment modification designs.
- Experience with maintenance management software (CMMS).
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, balancing on-site and remote tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to attend the Zaria, Kaduna, NG facility as required for the hybrid schedule.
