JOB PURPOSE
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Education Management industry. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. Your dedication and commitment to the education field will contribute to the overall success of our school.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
A Teaching Assistant is responsible for helping Teachers complete daily tasks within a classroom environment. Their duties include leading lessons or small group activities for students, grading student assignments in accordance with the Teacher grading criteria, and providing individual guidance to students with learning disabilities or behavioral challenges.
RELATIONSHIPS
This is a positive relationship between the teacher and the student in efforts to gain trust and respect from each other.
This relationship may consist of getting to know your students better, providing choice and encouraging the students to become stronger learners everyday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate with the classroom teacher in planning and implementing lessons
2. Support students during classroom activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment
3. Assist in the preparation and organization of teaching materials and resources
4. Monitor and provide feedback on student progress and behavior
5. Supervise students during lunchtime, recess, outdoor activities and field trips
6. Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students who require additional support
7. Assist in the assessment and grading process, including the collection and recording of student data
8. Collaborate with classroom teacher to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies
9. Communicate regularly and effectively with students' parents or guardians regarding their academic progress and development
10. Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school events
11. Assist in Maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records and grades
REQUIREMENTS
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
2. Proficient in using educational technology and software
3. Knowledge of different teaching strategies and methodologies
4. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs
5. Strong organizational and time management skills
6. Proficiency in English (additional language proficiency is a plus)
7. Good understanding of cultural differences and willingness to navigate and embrace diversity
8. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
9. Dedication to professional growth and continuous learning
10. Strong knowledge of the relevant curriculum and teaching methods.
11. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
12. Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
13. Abilty to meet deadlines, assign tasks, and meet established goals and objectives.
14. Good general health, clean in attire and professional in appearance.
15. Ability to be punctual and maintain regular attendance.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
Valid International Teaching Certification
Proven 5-10years experience as Teaching Assistant in an international school or working with diverse student populations
