Full Job Description

1. Sorting and processing laundry: Separating laundry based on colors, fabric types, and care instructions. Checking for stains, tears, or other damages that may require special attention.

2. Operating laundry equipment: Operating washing machines, dryers, ironing and pressing machines, and steamers in a safe and efficient manner. Understanding the proper settings and temperature requirements for different fabrics.

3. Loading and unloading machines: Loading clothes into washing and drying machines, ensuring they are distributed evenly and not overloaded. Removing clothes from machines once the cycles are complete and transferring them to appropriate equipment or areas for further processing.

4. Stain treatment and preparation: Identifying and treating tough stains, using specialized cleaning agents or techniques when necessary. Preparing delicate fabrics or garments by hand-washing or dry-cleaning, ensuring preservation of the quality and integrity.

5. Folding, ironing, and packaging: Folding clean clothes, linens, and other textiles neatly and efficiently. Operating ironing or pressing machines to remove wrinkles and create crisp-looking garments. Packaging or organizing laundered items according to specifications such as by size, color, or customer instructions.

6. Inventory control and maintenance: Maintaining stock of laundry supplies, such as detergents, fabric softeners, and cleaning solvents. Ensuring proper maintenance and cleaning of laundry equipment to maximize their lifespan and efficiency. Reporting any operational issues or maintenance needs to supervisors.

7. Customer service and communication: Assisting customers with drop-off and pick-up of laundry items. Answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing information about laundry policies and procedures. Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor to ensure customer satisfaction.

8. Quality control: Inspecting laundered items for cleanliness, proper folding, and overall quality before packaging or returning to customers. Addressing any quality issues or customer complaints promptly and resolving them to the best of one's ability.

9. Safety and hygiene procedures: Following safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a clean and hazard-free work environment. Using personal protective equipment as required, such as gloves or masks, to protect against potential hazards or exposure to chemicals.
