Job Summary
As a Health and
Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health,
safety, and well-being of our employees, visitors, and the surrounding
environment within the manufacturing facility. You will be responsible
for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and
procedures to mitigate workplace risks and to comply with relevant
regulations.
Key
Responsibilities
To ensure the
compliance with health and safety regulations and staying updated on
local, state, and federal policies, guidelines and procedures for all
employees.
Develop and implement measures to
mitigate identified risks, including equipment modifications, safety
protocols, and employee training within the facility .
Create and maintain a comprehensive incident reporting system to
investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root
causes and implement corrective actions.
Provide
training and orientation programs for new employees on safety policies
and procedures.
Develop and maintain emergency
response plans, including evacuation procedures and first-aid
protocols.
Conduct regular safety inspections of
the manufacturing facility to identify and correct potential hazards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in
occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related
field (relevant certifications or training may be considered)
Minimum of 3 years proven experience in a health and
safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety .
Certification such as Certified Safety Professional
(CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety
Technician
(OHST) is a plus.
